Teme Freemasons' Lodge in Knighton

Welcome to Teme Lodge No 4267

We have a membership of just under 40, and have been serving the community of Knighton and Presteigne since the Lodge was consecrated on Empire Day, the 24th May 1921, in the Board room at Offa's Lodge in Knighton. Freemasonry provides a structure for members to come together under the common goals of integrity, friendship, respect, charity and service, enabling people to make friendships, develope themselves and make valauable contributions to charitable causes as members of their community.

In becoming a Mason members have the opportunity to learn the more important truths of morality, their relationship with a Supreme Being and their fellow men, and find the acceptance of others in an atmosphere of mutual support and tolerance.

Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service

Our membership comes from across Knighton, Presteigne and the surrounding villages and beyond. We are part of one of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world, an inclusive and hospitable society, who welcome members from all races, creeds and backgrounds. While we are located in Wales, Teme Lodge in Knighton is part of the Shropshire Province. However, we are dedicated to working with local communities on both sides of the border.

Teme Lodge Events

We have a number of events, both regular and social, in the pipeline. Above all the goal is to strengthen friendships and help members be valued as integral to the Lodge and to Freemasonry in general and raise funds for charitable giving, locally and nationally. We will post more upcoming events as they are planned.

What Is Freemasonry?

Our Values

 Integrity

Rather than working on buildings like the masons of old, today's Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal.

 Friendship

One of the oldest social organisations in the world, Freemasonry is not defined by an ideology. It is open to people from all religions and political persuasions and provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life.

 Respect

With a membership of more than 200,000 people drawn from communities across the UK, Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their race, religion or any other perceived differences that can divide us as a society.

  Service

Kindness and charitable giving are deeply ingrained within the principles of Freemasonry. The organisation provides a support structure that helps members make positive contributions, both in charitable giving and volunteer work to and for our communities and worthwhile causes.
